The furry sibling

Norton, my first 4-legged furry child, a golden retriever, by breed, was one of my birthday gifts from my dear husband. 4 years later, he has grown to be a big part of our family. We never knew this four-legged fur ball would be such a great part of us. He loves being loved and very well knows when we need love.

V and Norton being siblings, their first interaction was something we were all very eager about. When V was brought home after my delivery, it was so wonderful and exciting to see Norton’s curiosity as to what this new small creature was.

His reaction on seeing V for  was one of the most delightful moments ever witnessed. He bounced and rolled with excitement, sniffed the baby’s head once and was running around in joy. If he could talk, I’m sure he would have happily shouted “My partner in crime has arrived !!!”. 😀 😀

Knowing Norton, we knew he would prove to be a very concerned and caring older brother. Whenever V slept, Norton would keep a watch on her, so we didn’t need an extra baby monitor 😛 . If ever she cried, Norton would be the first one to reach the room. And as she grew, V always thought Norton is one of her furry toys, but a big moving one. The bond, they share is something inexplainable.

As V started crawling and moving around, to be honest poor Norton had his tough times from V. She started pinching his nose, poking his eyes, pulling his hair and even taking his food away, but as always expected, Norton is ever patient and would be the ever-loving brother for little V.
